Logo design

Bowel Variety Performance

Back in 2014, my cousin Carla asked me to design a logo for a charity event she had been planning to set up. Oxford vs the Big C aims to raise awareness of Cancer symptoms and funds for various cancer charities through entertainment events. The charity had been set up by Carla’s brother Dean who had been battling Bowel Cancer to help others with the disease. Sadly, Dean passed away, and Carla had been inspired carry on the charity in his memory. Of course, I was more than happy to help out.

Carla organised a Cabaret themed variety performance – The Bowel Variety Performance to raise money for the charity Beating Bowel Cancer. The Bowel Variety Performance promised a night of comedy and cabaret at the beautiful venue of Freuds Bar, Oxford. A fun and entertaining event all for a good cause.

After much research into cabaret style posters from the 1930’s, I designed a logo and roller banner for the event. With the retro look and twist of modernity, I really was in my element and relished in the design. I wanted to illustrate the atmosphere of the fun event though the designs. The night had been a roaring success, so Carla organised another one the following year in 2015.

I produced an A5 flyer to be printed and advertised around Oxford, as well as online advertisements to promote the event. It was very rewarding to contribute to a charity so dear to my heart, helping those affected by Cancer.
